We hope that y’all are excited for our discussion of America’s War this Wednesday evening!
For our March book chat we will be reading Why Texans Fought in the Civil War by Dr. Charles Grear of Prairie View A&M University. This selection will build on our discussion of America’s War by exploring why Texans decided to fight for the Confederacy.
Civil War Book Review had the following to say about Why Texans Fought in the Civil War:
“. . . first-rate work on the motivations of Texans to fight in the Civil War. . . a well-written and exhaustively researched book. . . will appeal to both scholars and general readers. . . “
