Howdy Y’all,
Join us Wednesday, May 7th at 7:30pm as we discuss our latest book, The Pecan: A History of America’s Native Nut with author Dr. James McWilliams of Texas State University.
Come ready to have your questions about the book or pecans in general answered by Dr. McWilliams.
We look forward to having y’all join us Wednesday night!
There are several other edible native North American tree seeds called “nuts” including the pinon pine nut, the beech nut, and the native western walnut called “nogal”. Do you think there may have been a general trade in “nuts” from the various regions from the southwest to the southeast?
Great book! How easy is it to climb a pecan tree?
